Things to do in June

• “Dead-head” your roses. If you do this faithfully, the roses will continue to bloom. Feed monthly with Master Nursery Rose and Flower Food. Check roses for mildew and aphids. Apply controls when the temperatures are below 90 degrees F.
• Watch for slugs, snails and earwigs. Check your drip or irrigation system to make sure it’s working properly and your plants are getting enough water.
• Fertilize your lawns and groundcovers.
• Protect fruits and berries from birds with netting and scare tape.
• Control whiteflies with weekly spraying of insecticidal soap sprays. Be sure to spray undersides of leaves.
• Control Bermuda grass in grass lawns with Monterey Turflon Ester. Check the label for directions and proper timing.
• Apply Sevin granules to the lawn to control lawn moth larvae, cutworms, earwigs, ants, grasshoppers, fleas, and other pest.
